It’s hard to put Bollywood dance into words. It’s made of countless components — so much fits into it, so many steps can describe it, yet it can never be fully defined. And that’s exactly what makes it so exciting.

It’s like a labyrinth.

If you head in one direction, you’ll meet the thousand faces of Indian folklore. In another, you’ll find bold and unique interpretations of modern dance. Venture deeper, and the world of mudras and classical storytelling pulls you in.
Turn yet another corner, and the unstoppable energy of disco-style dance sweeps you away.

What does this give you?

A sense of individuality and self-expression - all within the intertwined worlds of an ancient Indian framework and a hundred-year-old film industry.

A contradiction? Yes. Just like so much in India — and in the world. But that’s what makes it beautiful.

A challenge? Yes. Just like everything new and unfamiliar. But that’s what makes it an adventure.

Because it opens up a world where every day holds a little surprise. You’ll discover not only a new culture, but also yourself — your body, your expression, your voice. I’ve been walking the paths of this labyrinth for twenty years, and every turn only deepens my curiosity.
